My name is Rachel Thomas. I began my career in holistic health in 1998, after a doctor informed me that my ovarian cysts would “require” surgery. With the help of Traditional Latino Medicine practitioners, I healed my body naturally, receiving a great gift of hope and wisdom which I am dedicated to sharing with other women.

My bachelors degree is in Education and Africana Studies from Brown University and I am currently receiving my certification as a Health Counselor at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition®. I have studied herbalism and alternative medicine for fifteen years at the New York City Open Center, as well as with numerous Central American folk healers. I founded the Hidden Garden Wellness Center in Costa Rica and Traditional Strategies, a holistic health consultation service, with the goal of helping people connect to natural medicine and the unique cultural-healing experiences available in Latin America.
