Staff Biographies
Rachel Thomas is an herbalist, a holistic health practitioner and an educator. For over ten years she is has been studying and teaching about Central American healing techniques and providing consultations and workshops on empowering self-healing. Rachel owns and manages The Hidden Garden Healing Center, where she offers classes and treatments including herbal medicine, nutritional therapy, aromatherapy, reiki, cleansings, reproductive healing, yoga and holistic counseling. Rachel graduated from Brown University and has studied at the Open Center in New York for thirteen years, as well as informally with different local healers throughout Costa Rica for ten years. She has experienced her own healing miracles, including curing her own ovarian cysts and endometriosis and she has dedicated herself to supporting women in their quest for personal health empowerment through natural and holistic practices.
Jane Segleau is the author of Plantas Medicinales de Costa Rica. She works out of her own Las Cusingas Botanical Garden en Guapiles, Costa Rica, where she teaches and provides consultations in a multitude of healing techniques including Costa Rican herbalism, Reiki, and shamanic practices.
Christina Zingrich is the author of a number of books on alternative medicine and she produces a line of vibrational medicines called Jungla Vital. She practices kinesiology in her healing center, Casita Vital, en Playa Chiquita and teaches a variety of classes on healing modalities.
